A free community event for the public with a car show, charity stalls and a 1940s event happening in Ropergate.

The car show will have up to 100 vehicles and bikes on display with live entertainment on stage, children’s rides and character parade all set in the Pontefract town centre.

On the day a briefing will take place at 7am take place for marshals with support needed between 7am until 10am. A free breakfast sandwich and coffee will be available.

We need help in the following areas.

• Marshalling the vehicles and guiding to parking points at 5 different entry/display points to town
• Stage set up, gazebo erection (involving some lifting)
• Marshalling the Character Parade and possible opportunities to be dressed as a character in the parade from 11am to 1pm
• Help in take down and vehicle marshalling for exiting vehicles 3pm to 5pm

We would require individuals to:

• Sign on to the event volunteer register
• Be prepared for bad weather (although there is some cover)
• Work individually & be mobile

We would welcome help for all or part of the day. Refreshments and changing/toilet facilities will be available to all volunteers supporting this event.
