Volunteer Ranger - RSPB Fairburn Ings
You will be out on site, walking the trails, chatting to the public about the history of the site, the wildlife that lives there and the work that we do. You'll also be collecting feedback and ideas from the public, and answering their questions.
You'll join a really friendly, large, team of dedicated staff and volunteers, who all want to help save nature in the Aire Valley. We'll provide training, uniform and a lovely reserve to spend time in! This is a real opportunity to make a difference and give back to a local community.
You'll need to be a great people person with the ability to communicate with lots of different people in a positive way. You'll need to be able to enthuse and inspire adults and children about the wonders of the natural world in an upbeat and engaging way. You'll need to be willing to learn about the work and campaigns of the RSPB and share those stories with our visitors, encouraging them to support us morally, financially or by giving their time as a volunteer too.
You'll need to be happy working outdoors in a variety of weathers, as well as spending a lot of time walking at St Aidan's. You'll also need to be a good team player, willing to get stuck in.
