Volunteer Generalist Adviser

Help people solve their money, work, consumer, housing and family problems.
8 hrs / week Flexible Wakefield North view map

No prior experience or knowledge required- full training and support provided.

Advisers are trained to be Telephone and Email Assessors first (see separate listing).

Purpose of the role

  • To provide full advice and options to our clients at our Wakefield Office

 Main duties and responsibilities

  • To interview clients face to face and over the telephone
  • Respond to email requests for assistance
  • Staff the drop in service
  • To provide practical help to clients by writing letters, making phone calls, negotiating, completing forms and doing calculations.
  • Give advice in explaining the choices and consequences the client faces.
  • Prevent future problems by identifying issues that affect a lot of clients
  • Keep thorough electronic case notes of the interview
  • Contribute to local and national campaigns by recording evidence.

Expenses

We will reimburse train and bus fair.
We will reimburse fuel costs at 40p per mile
We will reimburse parking expenses up to £5 per day.
