Volunteer Advocate

Can you give four hours of your time per week to support your local community?
4 hrs / week From Mon 9th Aug 2021

We are looking for passionate, dedicated volunteers to support our Wakefield Advocacy Hub to provide support to vulnerable individuals. The volunteer roles have been developed to complement the work of our paid advocacy team and to support individuals who are not eligible for statutory advocacy support.

This is a great opportunity to develop useful advocacy skills and valuable work experience. Additionally, the volunteer coordinator will adopt an adaptable approach and work closely with volunteers to assist their own goals for personal development.

Volunteers will receive advocacy training over a 4-6 week period. The volunteer coordinator will work closely with you to develop a role which most suits your skillset and availability.

The Scheme will fund the volunteer with travel expenses, and once the volunteers have completed the induction training, they will be funded to complete the Enhanced DBS check.
