Join us at Open Country (Charity No. 1107331) the award-winning charity and help disabled people to access the countryside. We are running a wide variety of activities in Wakefield, including hiking, wheelchair walks, nature work parties and tandem cycling. Open Country's Trailblazer group helps to make our green spaces better for wildlife and for the people that enjoy spending time outside. We go out every Wednesday from 10am - 4pm with a group of adults with learning disabilities and volunteer supporters.

Tasks vary from week-to-week but include tree planting, pond making, meadow cutting and raking, path laying/widening (on public footpaths in green spaces), vegetation cut back work, bench building and barrier removal (replacing stiles with gates).

This role would suit somebody who is physically active and wants to enjoy fun, satisfying jobs that want to support adults with learning disabilities in the countryside.
