This is an exciting new role to help raise awareness of Scouting through social media channels and other medias. The successful candidate will work with the District team to support Scout Groups and Units in the District to promote Scouting to the local community through redeveloping and updating websites, by developing Facebook and Twitter and other social media channels and working with other types of media. The role will work closely with the District Scout Team and the Scout Association Media teams, working within the brand policy and rules of the association.

Key Responsibilities:

 * Development of Social Media channels for the Scout District

* Seeking and identifying local content (good news stories happening in Scouting) & promote these locally

* Regularly promoting Scouting to media groups via local "awareness" campaigns

* Liaise with Scout HQ PR team, giving updates on coverage and seeking support

* Monitoring local media channels and feeding success stories to local Scouting and HQ PR team

* Sharing good practice across the District

* Establish a media plan for the District with the District team in order to promote Scouting in the area
