Wakefield Local Authority has a variety of different schools from across all educational settings & are interested in recruiting School Governors with a diverse range of skills, experiences & backgrounds - this can be from your life experiences to professional ones but the most important skills are your time and energy! 

Time involvement can vary dependent on the setting & your capacity but this is a discussion that will take place when you speak with prospective schools - usually it will be approx 4 hrs per month.

Becoming a School Governor is a fantastic opportunity to develop your own personal & strategic professional skills while giving back to the community. You will develop personal skills in strategic leadership & management that further develop life & career choices. Its also a perfect role if you are retired but still want to be actively involved in your community.
