Museum Minis Volunteer Support

We are looking for a volunteer to support regular Thursday morning sessions for 2 - 5 year olds.
2 hrs / week Thu 23rd May – Thu 25th Jul Wakefield North view map

As part of the informal programming weekly (term time) Museum Minis sessions are held at Wakefield Museum on a Thursday morning 10.30am -11.30pm. These sessions are planned for 2-5 year olds and their families. Co-developed between the Learning Team and Visitor Experience Assistants (VEAs) who lead on delivering the sessions.

The sessions take the form of a simple trail around the museum for children to find, plus 4 activities for children to take part in with their adults. The activities might include colouring, cutting and sticking, moving things with tongs or scoops, role play/pretend, collage etc.

They are designed to be self-led, but we have staff to welcome visitors and introduce the session.

We would like you to help with this session

· Helping the team set up and pack away materials.

· Keeping count of the number of people taking part in the sessions.

· Helping facilitate the sessions - encouraging people to get involved with the activities and showing them how they can be done.

·  Providing a warm welcome.

·  Singing along with the rhymes and demonstrating any actions.

This is a great chance to get experience delivering learning activities to an Early Years audience.
