The job club was established to help address the needs of unemployed people in the Eastmoor area. It provides people with access to computers and expert advice and support.

Tasks: Volunteers will assist job seekers with the following:

Creating an email account, Opening a Government Gateway account

Accessing and using Universal Job Match (UJM) website

Encouraging people to log their activity on UJM, Creating CV’s and Covering letters, Completing applications forms, paper based and online, Assisting with online job searching

Skills development: This role will enable volunteers to gain experience of supporting people who are looking for work. This role will help develop communication skills and 1to1 support skills. It also provides an opportunity for volunteers to work alongside professionals from other agencies e.g. Wakefield District Housing, Job Centre Plus etc…

Volunteer shifts available: Job Club runs every Friday from 9am – 12noon at the St Swithuns Centre.


£3.50 daily for food and drinks from our cafe
