Independent Visitor

Can you give the gift of time to a young person in care?
Flexible hours Flexible

Could you meet up with the same young person every 2 weeks to do fun things together? If so, Barnardo’s CAPS want to hear from you! We are looking to recruit volunteers to our Independent Visitor Service. Our Independent Visitors provide a vital support to young people who are in care. They develop a long-term friendship with a young person and share fun and motivational experiences together. As an Independent Visitor you will help young people develop new interests, skills and hobbies or go on outings such as to the cinema, bowling or just a walk in the park. Each volunteer is carefully matched with a child or young person in their local area who shares similar interests.

We are having a Picnic at Pugneys Country Park on Wednesday 6th July 12.30-2pm (we will be on the grassed area opposite the cafe). Come along and meet the team, who can tell you more and answer your questions. We’d love to see you there!
