Get Eastmoor Moving (GEM) is a holiday activity scheme for children aged 6-12 held at St Swithuns Community Centre. GEM activities take place throughout the year, outside of term time.

You will be working with children and their families and will need to have good communication skills, patience and a caring personality. We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic volunteers who are trust worthy and responsible. You will work with a team of volunteers to plan activities and ensure they are well organised.

Tasks: Volunteers will assist staff with the following:supervision of children ages 6-12 on centre based activities, supervision of children while on trips out, supervision of children over lunchtimes, petty cash handling and daily registration of children, Promotion of activities and events – distributing flyers and posters

Skills development: This role will enable volunteers to gain experience of working with children and families, in a community setting. Volunteers will develop communications, organisation, planning and delivery skills. Volunteers will hopefully build effective working relationships with centre users, staff, volunteers and other local agencies.

Expenses

£3.50 daily for drinks and a meal from our cafe
