Exhibition Invigilation Volunteer

Help our visitors to get the most from our current exhibition, about Pontefract-born artist Pears
Flexible hours Mon 20th Sep – Fri 25th Feb Pontefract North view map

Wakefield Museums & Castles opened our current exhibition at Pontefract Museum – Bracing Air, Abundant Amusements: The Travel Posters of Charles Pears - in May. The exhibition is a celebration of the work of Pontefract-born artist Charles Pears, who enjoyed a prolific career as a poster artist in the early 20th century. The exhibition features posters and original artworks that have been loaned to us from nationally-important museum collections, and is complemented by travel-related objects from our own collections. It is a vibrant and colourful exhibition, with plenty of sun, sea and sand for those craving a day at the seaside!

We are looking for Exhibition Invigilation Volunteers to invigilate the exhibition. You will welcome visitors to the exhibition space, provide information about the objects on display, and help our Visitor Experience Assistants to monitor the security of the exhibition. You will help us to ensure that every visitor to the exhibition feels welcome, learns something new, and has an enjoyable visit. You will be part of a small team of invigilation volunteers, working on a rota system, but there is flexibility in the hours.
