Volunteers with good general knowledge of digital technology, good communication skills and appropriate soft skills, would thrive in this role. We match up our Digital Inclusion Volunteers with clients that require help and support accessing digital technology (Tablets and Smart Phones) you would visit the client we match you with on a weekly basis for around 8 weeks to support them in becoming confident using the technology and the internet.
Volunteers should be committed to offering at least three months to the role due to the amount of training that will be offered. Volunteers in this role must be aged 18 or over.
You would be required to attend a Volunteer Induction and a 2 hour Digital Induction training session.
Assisting and training clients to access the internet via a new device can be a very rewarding experience. Getting people connected to their families by email, face calls or social media, alleviating isolation and loneliness is satisfying. The immediate benefits to individuals are tangible and clear in their joy and feedback.
