Confidence Building Volunteer

We are looking for big hearted, open minded people who are good listeners and reliable team members.

You can help to meet the needs of older people by volunteering to support the services we provide. We promote the wellbeing of older people living in the Wakefield District and aim to make later life a fulfilling and enjoyable experience.

We are looking for volunteers to join our Step Out programme, to help support older people who have lost confidence getting out & about since lockdown. Do you have a morning or afternoon spare through the week to support someone getting back to everyday activities, taking a bus, going to the supermarket or attending a group. Mon-Fri Only. In this role you would be matched with a client who is looking to get back out and about into the community, you would support them to build confidence and work towards a goal, for instance getting back out walking, getting back to a group, taking a trip out to the shops or supermarket.

This is a varied role offering you a chance to join a great team and really make a difference to an older persons life.

Full training is provided in this role
