Role Purpose

To become part of a successful team of volunteers who befriend individuals who are experiencing social isolation – in the hope of:

 Creating a valued relationship

 Helping to improve self-confidence

 Reduce social isolation by supporting people to access activities

Accountable to: The Health & Wellbeing Manager

Main Tasks:

 To meet with a person at an agreed place (this could be their home)

 To make a regular, agreed commitment - this usually involves a minimum of one hour per week

 To agree with the client a range of beneficial activities to reduce social isolation.

 To adhere to St George's Lupset Ltd policies and procedures.

We are looking for volunteers who:

 Are friendly and caring

 Are honest and trustworthy

 Are sympathetic

 Have good listening skills

 Have a clear time commitment
